BURT, Berta (Betty) – Suddenly at home on Saturday, January 2nd, 2010. Betty (Happach) Burt of 41 Amelia St. age 90. Dear mother of Hannelore Goethert Pratt of Mesquite, Nevada. Cherished grandmother of Carolyn Krieger (of Scottsdale, Arizona) and Philip Karl Crippen (of Phoenix, Arizona). Beloved great-grandmother of Lauren Krieger and Philip T. Crippen. Betty was born on August 21st, 1919 and spent the first 33 years of her life in Munich, Germany. After immigrating to Canada in 1953, she spent her remaining years in the Cornwall area, making many friends. In her later years, she was an active member of St. Columban’s Senior Choir. She will be sadly missed by friends Sheila Bourget, Agnes Desjardins, Jane Anderson, and Desneiges Miseferi. Betty is predeceased by her parents Leopold Happach and Berta Schadt, brothers Georg Happach and Maximillian Leopold Happach, step-brother Sepp Erhengruber, granddaughter Lisa Crippen and by former husbands Karl Goethert and Gerald Burt. Resting at LAHAIE & SULLIVAN CORNWALL FUNERAL HOMES, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (613-932-8482) from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columban’s Catholic Church on Friday, January 8th, 2010.
