Lina M. Johnson 1921-2010 Miramichi - Lina May Johnson, widow of the late Leonard Johnson, of Henderson Street, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at the age of 88, following a brief illness. Born in Petit Gras, Nova Scotia, on August 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Exavier and Alvina (Samson) Marchand. She was a homemaker; a retired hair dresser and Roman Catholic by faith. She attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi; a former member of the Chatham Lioness Club. She is survived by two daughters, Heather Tate, of Vancouver, B.C. and Stephanie Johnson, of Miramichi; three sons, Leroy Johnson, of Waterloo, Ont., Clyde Johnson (Jeanette), of Miramichi and Wayne Johnson (Elaine), of Quyon, Que.; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, in 1984; four sisters and three brothers. By her request, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. The public are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Monday, January 18, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser, assisted by Father Leon Creamer. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family. Interment will be in the family lot of Riverside Cemetery, Miramichi, later in the spring.
