James W. McDermaid 1934-2010 Miramichi - James William McDermaid, husband of Delores McDermaid, of King St., Miramichi, Passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Friday, January 29, 2010, at the age of 75. Born in Chatham, on December 22, 1934, he was the son of the late Rex and Hilda (Voutour) McDermaid. He was a retired employee of Ford Motor Co. Ltd., in Ontario and attended St. Michaels Basilica, Miramichi. He is survived by his wife, the former Delores Deredin; one daughter, Triena Russell (Tim), of Halifax, N.S.; one step daughter, Debbie Stark (Ed), of Winnipeg, Man.; two sons, Darrell McDermaid (Donna), of Miramichi and Richard Adams (Leslie), of Toronto; three step sons, Harold Adams, Mike Adams (Sandra), all of Miramichi and Wayne Adams (Midge), of Toronto, Ont.; one sister, Sharon McPherson (Blair), of New Waterford, N.S.; four brothers, Rex McDermaid Jr. (Simone), of Ottawa, Ont., Richard McDermaid (Evelyn), of Fort Erie, Ont., Robert McDermaid (Susan), of Cornwall, Ont., Charles McDermaid (Judy), of Oakville, Ont.; thirteen grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Sunday only, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Michaels Basilica, on Monday, February 1, 2010, at 11 am, conducted by Father John Fraser. Interment will be in the church cemetery, later in the spring. Please note, vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon, at 3 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
