Henri FILION

FILION Henri, a driver-trainer who is a younger brother of harness racing's top driver, Herve Filion, died today, four days after a serious racing accident at the Hippodrome in Aylmer, Quebec. He was 55. Henri Filion was driving Bye Bye Angus in the ninth race last Saturday when the horse went off stride and fell, throwing him to the track. Henri Filion, one of eight boys in his family who became harness drivers, learned driving by jogging horses on the road near his home in Angers, Quebec. Henri Filion won 3,318 races in his career. His brother Herve is the leading winner in harness racing history. Henri Filion is survived by his wife, Ginette, and four children.(The New-York Times et Journal de Mtl)
