Laurine Zoah Ayer Laurine Zoah Ayer of Petitcodiac, NB, age 87, passed away Monday, March 8, 2004 at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by family and friends. Born July 17, 1916 in Hillside, Albert Co., NB, she was a daughter of the late Zelotas and Laura (Steeves) Bannister. She lived in Elgin most of her life and was an active member of the Elgin United Baptist Chruch, the W.M.S. group and the Elgin and Petitcodiac Senior Citizens. She loved to travel, quilt, knit, cook and read and she loved spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Laura Lewis of Edmonton, Alberta; Arlene (Bill) Mercer of Barrie, Ontario; her sons, Aubrey (Joy) of Ottawa, Ontario; Barton (Barb) of Petitcodiac, NB and "special adopted son", Danny (Rosa) Cole of Havelock, NB, also 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren; two brothers, King (Wilda) Bannister of Hillside, Murray (Rita) Bannister of Woburn, Mass.; four, sisters-in-law, Alvelda Bannister of Elgin, Marguerite Ayer of Southville, NS, Audrey Ayer of Stoney Creek and Betty (John) Williams of Lower Cape and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John in 2000; sister, Vesta (Roy) Beck; brother, Raymond. Resting at Armstrong' s Funeral Home, 33 Russell Street, Petitcodiac, (756-3361), with visiting hours on Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral will be held from the First Elgin United Baptist Church on Saturday, March 13, 2004 at 1:00 pm, Rev. G. Cook and Rev. M. Smith officiating. Burial will be held in the New Elgin Cemetrey at a later date.
