Deacon Walter James Gabourie Deacon Walter James Gabourie passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2004, in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary Barbara Gabourie (née Shalla). Dearly loved father of Barbara Anne Noble of Moncton, N.B, James Edward Gabourie and wife Barbara of Mississauga, Paul Andrew Gabourie of Mississauga and Doreen Mary Rakchaev and husband Ron of Mississauga. Also lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Erin and fiancee, Iain, Darrell, Leanne, Craig, Mandy, Christina and great granddaughter, Kaiyannah. Deacon Gabourie was a Grand Knight of council 2401 Knights of Columbus, was a member of the first graduating class of Deacons and was ordained in 1974 and served his ministry for 25 years. Deacon Gabourie touched many lives and will always be remembered for his compassion and caring and for his participation within the community and in the Roman Catholic Churches in the G.T.A. Deacon Gabourie will be resting at the 'Wignall Chapel' of the G.H. Hogle Funeral Homes, 62 Long Branch Avenue, Etobicoke on Thursday from 7 to 9 pm and Friday 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Vigil to be held Friday evening 8:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Leo's Catholic Church, 277 Royal York Road, Etobicoke on Saturday, March 27, 2004 at 10:30 am. Interment to be held at Assumption Catholic Cemetery, Tomken Road at Derry. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. [Times & Transcript]
