Bancroft: Peter January 5, 1923 - December 4, 2004 With sadness the family of Peter Bancroft regretfully inform family and friends of his passing. He was born January 5, 1923 in Edmonton to Samuel and Gwen Bandcroft. In 1941 at age 18, he joined the RCAF and served overseas until his discharge in 1945. In 1945 he married his lovely bride Edith Louise Pattison. They moved to the Drumheller area in 1960 when Peter became manager of the unemployment office. He later served with the Drumheller Institution upon its opening in 1967 and retired in 1982. He was very active in the community with the Boy Scouts of Canada. He also was a member of the local Rotary Club. He was an avid photographer and the local theatre projectionist. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Edith Louise, his son Robert (Dawn) and daughter Judith, 4 grandchildren; Jordana, Renee, Brianne and Derek. Peter passed away on December 4, 2004 very suddenly at his home in Drumheller. At his request there will be no public memorial service. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the local Salvation Army.
