ENGELEN-IRWIN, Elisabeth (Liz) - After a long battle with cancer, went to be with the Lord in her 49th year. Beloved wife of William (Bill) Irwin. Loving mother of Jake Smith, his wife Lory and Jeff Smith. Dear daughter of Hennie Hersant. Sister of Ron Engelen and Jacqueline and Folkent Bergsma. Dear aunt of 5 nephews, Rusty, Abram, Jacob, John and Jacob. Dear friend of Debbie L'Ecuyer. Predeceased by her father Jacobus Engelen (1966), step-father Horst Hersant (1995) and brother Paul Engelen (1997). Your memory forever treasured as a mother, daughter, friend and wife. She will be never forgotten by all who truly knew her. In accordance with Elisabeth's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will take place in the chapel at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday, January 3rd at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Catharines General Hospital Palliative Care Unit would be greatly appreciated by the family.
