Helen Christeena Albers, 67 Helen Christeena Albers (nee Powell) of Prescott, formerly of Kemptville, passed away suddenly in Brockville General Hospital Sunday, Nov. 28, 2004. She was 67. She was born Dec. 25, 1936 in Smiths Falls, Ont. to Henry Charles Powell and the former Iva Mae Larose. She married Gerard Henry Albers Dec. 31, 1955 in Smiths Falls. Mrs. Albers worked as a registered nursing assistant. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard Henry Albers. She is survived by her children Dennis of Prescott, Jim (Nancy Lee) of Kemptville, Aleida Albers-Miller (Brian) of Kingston and Jane Fowler (Stephen) of Newfoundland; sisters Norma Albers of Nova Scotia, Dorothy McIlvenna of Winnipeg, Mary Hamilton of Carleton Place and Joan Mitchell of Brockville; and nine grandchildren: Kyle, Dennis, Jessica, Daniel, Erika, Tim, Matthew, Nicholas and Christeena. Visitation was held at Grant Brown Funeral Home Purcell Chapel, Spencerville Wednesday, Dec. 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral was held Thursday, Dec, 2 at St. Mark's Catholic Church, Prescott for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Father Appelman officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Albers, James Albers, Aleida Albers-Miller, Brian Miller, Richard Albers and Travis Albers. Interment was at St. Mark's Cemetery, Prescott. Memorial donations to the Arthritis Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged.
