Ida Jane Alkerton, 93 Ida Jane Alkerton, of Prescott, died Aug. 21, 2004 at Brockville General Hospital. She was 93. She was born Oct. 12, 1910 in Prescott to James Barton and Ida Baker. She married Ken Alkerton Aug. 19, 1935 at Prescott United Church. Mrs. Alkerton was a housewife whose interests included baking, tending to flowers and caring for animals. She is survived by nieces Wilda King and Marie Armstrong, nephew James Barton, several great and great, great nieces and nephews, great, great, great nephew Nicholas Jeffrey Lyndaker, sister-in-law Dorothy Alkerton and a cousin, Bernice Brown. She was predeceased by her parents, husband, brothers Theodore, William, Henry and Robert Barton and sister Mary Bailey. Visitation took place Aug. 24, 2004 at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott. Funeral service took place Aug. 24 at 3 pm in the chapel. Rev. A. Schiebout officiated. A committal service followed at Maynard Cemetery. Pallbearers were Peter, Samantha and Shane MacArthur, Timothy and James Danehy and Deborah Danehy-Lyndaker.
