Thelma Buckland, 82 Thelma Buckland, of Prescott, died Sept. 8, 2004 at Brockville General Hospital. She was 82. She was born on July 20, 1922 in Barrow-In-Furness, Lancashire, England, to parents Andrew Fraser and Louise Lead. In Aug. 1944, she married Harry Buckland at Barrow-In-Furness. Mrs. Buckland was a housewife whose interests included crosswords, knitting, music, walks, and playing games and spending holidays with family. She is survived by her daughters Carol Rennick (Daryl) of Cardinal, Deborah McCaskey (Craig) of Edmonton and Penny Leblanc (Bob) of Fort Saskatchewan, Alta., her grandchildren Tanya, Steven, David, Erin and Nathan and her great grandchildren Simon and Timothy. She was predeceased by her parents and husband. Visitation was held Sept. 12, 2004 at the Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott. A funeral service took place in the chapel Sept. 13. Rev. Laurie Milito officiated. A committal service took place Sept. 13 at Sandy Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Daryl Rennick, Steven Rennick, Craig McCaskey, David McCaskey, Nathan Leblanc and Peter Barton. Robert Leblanc was honourary pallbearer. The eulogy was given by granddaughter Tanya Barton. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
