Hilda Mary Harper, 80 Hilda Mary Harper, Mayfield Retirement Home, Prescott, died Monday, March 22, 2004 at her residence. She was born May 17, 1923 in Berwick, Ontario, the daughter of Patrick Martin and Mary McMahon. She was married to Garnet Harper. Mrs. Harper is survived by her son Don and his wife Pat; daughters Beverly (Mrs. Cecil Earl), Marlene (Mrs. Patrick Walter) and Bonnie (Mrs. Richard Brown); grandchildren Crystal, Stephen, Amanda, Karen, Robbie, Luther, Mark, Timothy, Tara, Tana, Scott and Tammy; step-grandchildren Mark, Nancy and Ronda; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, Francis Martin, and his wife Geraldine. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, daughter Sandra, and grandsons Kevin, Carey and Martin. Mrs. Harper loved cooking for her family and she was known for her homemade buns. She loved to work in her garden and she always loved flowers. Mrs. Harper was very active in her church. She worked as a homemaker at home. Visitation took place Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott, where the funeral was held in the chapel March 25 at 11 am. Pastor David Gogolin officiated. A committal service will be held at Sandy Hill Cemetery, Prescott, later in the spring. Pallbearers were her grandchildren Steven Harper, Luther Walters, Mark Walters, Tim Walters, Robbie Earl and Scott Brown. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's United Church Roof Fund and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
