Jean Elaine Murdock, 80 Jean Elaine Murdock, of 800 Claxton Terr., Prescott, died June 25, 2004 at her residence. She was 80. She was born Oct. 21, 1923 in Prescott to Arnold Cross and Edith Carpenter. She married Willis Murdock Aug. 6, 1940 in Winchester. Mrs. Murdock was a cook at the Voyageur Restaurant in Cardinal for many years and at the Metropolitan Lunch Counter in Prescott, always serving up a smile. In addition to her love for children, her interests included ceramics, knitting and camping. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge for 18 years. She was a kind and gentle woman known for her generosity and loving ways. She is survived by her daughters Sheila (Mrs. Keith Toshack), Sharon Lancaster (friend Louis Piexoto), Heather Murdock (friend Fay Simpson), Elizabeth (Mrs. David Snowdon) and Elaine (Mrs. Don Soucy), her son William (wife Gloria), grandchildren Kim, Cynthia, Jennifer, Paul, Anna, Cheryl, Buddy, Andrew, Bill, David and Joseph, six great-grandchildren, her sister Verna (Mrs. Ron Peters), brother Lorne Cross (wife Joyce) and sister-in-law Irene Cross. Predeceased by her parents, husband, and brother Floyd Cross. Visitation took place June 28, 2004 at Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott. The funeral service was held June 29 at 11 am in the chapel. Rev. Jean Baker of Lyn officiated. Burial took place June 29 at Spruce Haven Cemetery. Pallbearers were Pat Shannon, Keith and Paul Toshack, Rick Hurlbert, Earl Snowdon and Jeff Peters. Honourary pallbearer was David Snowdon. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
