ALVIN PERRAULT Alvin Perrault, 69, of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 at La Verendrye General Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. Alvin was born Nov. 8, 1934 in Fort Frances to the late Albert and Madeline Mainville. He was raised by his grandparents, William and Josephine Perreault. Alvin moved to Minnesota and enlisted with the U.S. Army, and served with the 11th Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Ky. and in Germany. Upon his discharge, he returned to Minnesota and was united in marriage to Rita Jolicoeur. Together they had seven children and one step-daughter. Alvin worked in the Gulf of Mexico on oil rigs for many years. He later moved to Washington, where he worked in the MacIntosh Apple Orchards for a period, before moving to Fort Frances for his retirement. In his earlier years, he liked to fish and hunt a lot. At home, he enjoyed the view of the lake from his home, and enjoyed spending lots of time with his granddaughter, Shari. He was predeceased by one sister, Jacqueline Gushuliak; and one brother, Terry Wreggitt. Alvin is survived by his eight children, step-daughter, Joyce Jolicoeur of International Falls, Mn., Allan Perrault of Kentucky, Daryl Perrault and wife, Diane, of International Falls, Mn., William Perrault and wife, Donna, of Couchiching First Nation, Ont., James Perrault and wife, Janine, of St. Cloud, Mn., Cory Perrault and wife, Katherine, of Minnesota, Patrick Perrault of Washington, and Brenda and husband, Roger Luettjohann, of International Falls, Mn.; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by three brothers, Reginald Wreggitt and Richard McTavish, both of Fort Frances, Ont., and Hugh McTavish of British Columbia; one sister, Kitty and husband, Ken Desrosiers, of Fort Frances, Ont.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Couchiching First Nation. Deacon Elmer Mainville officiated, with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Couchiching First Nation. Friends visited Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004 from 7-9 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances. Parish prayers were offered at 7:30 p.m. Pallbearers were George Bruyere, Clifford Lagarde, Doug Fairbanks, Allan Yerxa, David Yerxa, and Wilf Morrisseau. Honourary pallbearers were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Should family and friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, P.O.
