EDITH ‘JOHNNIE’ REUTER Edith “Johnnie” Reuter, 79, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Monday March 31, 2004 at Falls Memorial Hospital in International Falls. Edith “Johnnie” Johnson was born Feb. 13, 1925 in Fort Frances, Ont. She grew up in Fort Frances and moved to International Falls in 1945. She was united in marriage to Paul Reuter Jr. on Nov. 26, 1942 at the First Lutheran Rectory. She enjoyed ceramics, and loved dancing and singing. She also was a writer of children’s stories and poetry, and a fan of her beloved Minnesota Twins baseball team. She worked as a cashier for the Plemings Grocery store. She was predeceased by her parents, Axel and Sally Johnson; and a son, Gary Reuter. Johnnie is survived by her husband, Paul Reuter Jr. of International Falls; son, Ron (Alyce) Reuter of Medford, Ore.; daughter, Charlynn (Robert) Hammond of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A brother, Eric Arthur (Sandra) Johnson of Fort Frances, Ont., also survives. Visitation will be held Friday, April 2, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at the Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3, 2004 at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, with Rev. Thomas Aitken officiating. Interment will be in the VFW Section of Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls. Condolences may be left at www.greenlarsen.com The family would prefer in memoriam donations to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund for landscaping and lot improvements.
