ALYCE BELANGER Alyce Belanger, 86, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 at the Falls Good Samaritan Center in International Falls, Mn. She was born Dec. 5, 1917 to Carl Victor and Mabel (McComb) Linsten. Alyce attended schools in International Falls and graduated in 1935. In 1936, she married Alfie Belanger, and the couple made their life-long home in the International Falls area. She was an active member and office holder in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Alyce loved flowers and had been a member of the Falls Garden Club. She also volunteered in the St. Thomas parish religious instruction program and was a Girl Scout leader. Alyce and her husband, Alfie, enjoyed square dancing for many years. Their grace and skill on the dance floor was well known. She also was a long-time member of the Fort Frances Curling club. The greatest love of Alyce’s life was her family. Alyce and Alfie spent many summers with their family at their cabin on Rainy Lake. She is survived by five children, Shirley Arnold (Phillip), Lynn (Carol), Carl, LeRoy (Joan), all of International Falls, Mn., and Sharon Lampi (Kelly) of Fort Frances, Ont. Alyce was blessed with 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by brothers, Jack Linsten (Delores) of Howard Lake, Mn. and Jerry Linsten (Patricia) of San Antonio, Tex.; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Alyce was predeceased by her parents; husband, Alfie; daughter, Sue, and infant son, Ronald; sisters, Verna Smith and Vivian Christensen; and brothers Clyde and Roy Linsten. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 31, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. at Green-Larsen Funeral Home in International Falls. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in International Falls. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls following the service. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be given to the Falls Memorial Hospital Auxiliary or St. Thomas Building Fund. Condolences may be left at www.greenlarsen.com
