Mary Donalda REID

MARY DONALDA REID Mary Donalda Reid (nee Hughes) passed away Aug. 10, 2004 at the Kelly Care Centre in Summerland, B.C. after a lengthy illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman B. Reid, in 1990; and a sister, Martha Whitley, in 1995. She is survived by her brother, David Hughes of Fort Frances, Ont.; sister, Annette Franceschini of Osoyoos, B.C.; niece, Donna Irwin of Bon Accord, Alta.; and nephews, Brad and David Hughes of Fort Frances, Ont., and Hal Hughes of Montreal, PQ. Mary was born in Whitehawk, Ont. on Feb. 22, 1919 and lived most of her life in Fort Frances, where she was married in 1942. Mary and her husband, Norman, both loved to golf, and together they spent their holidays playing golf at many famous courses in the United States and Canada. She was a life member of the Rainy Lake Golf & Country Club in Fort Frances, past member of the Royal Colewood Golf & Country Club in Victoria, B.C., and past member of the Penticton Golf & Country Club. She also was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, and her love of life touched the lives of all who knew her. Cremation took place and her ashes will be interred in the family plot in Barwick, Ont.
