MARK JOURDAIN Mark Jourdain, 69, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged, 550 Osborne St., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away at his residence on Friday, July 23, 2004. Mark was born Feb. 23, 1935 in Couchiching First Nation, Ont., to the late Johnny and Marie Jourdain. In his earlier years, Mark lived in Orr, Mn., and several other northern Minnesota towns where he worked in various lumber camps. He moved to Couchiching First Nation, Ont., in the early 1970’s and he worked in local lumber camps and saw mills. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He was predeceased by his wife, Ida Jourdain (Jack) in 1987; one brother, Matthew; two sisters, Lillian and Irene Jourdain. Mark is survived by his daughter, Corinne and husband, Larry Jourdain, of Thunder Bay, Ont.; one step-daughter, Kathie Jack and Doug Sinclair of Devlin, Ont.; one step-son, Ron Jack of Onigaming First Nation, Ont.; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Couchiching First Nation, Ont. Deacon Elmer Mainville will officiate with interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Couchiching First Nation, Ont. Friends may visit Thursday evening from 7 until 8 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances, Ont. Active pallbearers will be Dan Jourdain, Jason Kelly, Doug Sinclair, Ron Jack, Larry W. Jourdain and Marvin Fering. Honourary pallbearers will be Clarence Jourdain, Elroy Jourdain, Wayne Morrisseau, Steve Mainville, Louis Jourdain, Kalvin Jourdain, William Jourdain and Everett Jourdain. For those who so desire, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
