DALE MURRAY WILSON It is with great sadness that the family of Dale Wilson announces his sudden passing at La Verendrye Hospital in Fort Frances, Ont. on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2004. He was born Nov. 3, 1950 to the late Joseph and Violet Wilson. Dale was born and raised in the Fort Frances area, attending public and high school. He spent most of his childhood days at Bonnieview, where his parents, Joe and Violet Wilson, were caretakers. In Dale’s younger years, he was active in hockey and baseball, and also supported Ice for Kids. Dale worked at the local paper mill in Fort Frances for 35 years as a recovery operator. His great getaway was up at the cabin on Lake Despair, where he spent much of his time with family and friends; always ready to go fishing to see who could come home with the most fish—and the best story. Of course, he was always the winner in both categories. Dale also liked to hunt. Dale and his buddy, George Ossachuk, spent many hours sitting in the tree stand telling stories and waiting for the big one! Dale touched the lives of many people, young and elderly. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Left to mourn his memory are his best friend and partner of 20 years, Loretta, and his little dog, Chu-Chi; his son, Terry (Bonnie) of Edmonton, Alta.; stepsons, Bradley Barboni (Marlene) and Ricky Barboni (Melonie), all of Dryden, Ont.; and step-grandchildren, Megan, Nicholas, Tory, Heather, Lasaya, Christine, and Aaron. Also surviving are his brothers, Lynn, (Betty) of Duncan, B.C., and Ken (Linda) of Fort Frances, Ont.; nephews, Mark Wilson (Tanya) of Fort Frances, Ont., Landon Wilson of Fort St. John, B.C., and Craig Wilson of Gravenhurst, Ont.; niece, Angela Gentile (Aggie), and great-niece and nephew, Simone and Lorenzo, all of Winnipeg, Man.; Uncle Raymond and Aunt Lil Wilson of Thunder Bay, Ont., and aunt Mary Peterson of Dryden, Ont.; and many cousins too numerous to mention. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held in the Devlin Hall on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2004. Rev. Frances Flook officiated. The pallbearers were all Dale’s family and friends. A private family interment will take place at a later date. Do not stand at my grave and weep; I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow; I am the diamond glints on snow; I am the sunlight on ripened grain; I am the gentle autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die!
