SAMAD NASIR LANGSTON November 24, 2004 (Waakegooneb Zhooniiyaagooneb) It is with great sadness the family of Samad Nasir Langston (Waakegooneb Zhooniiyaagooneb) announce his passing on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2004 in Fort Frances, Ont. Samad was born Nov. 13, 2003 in Fort Frances. He liked dancing to his children’s music, watching Teletubbies and The Wiggles, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed his visits with Gramma and Grampa Smith. He will be sadly missed by his parents, Valerie Smith and Esau Langston. Also left to cherish his memory are his two sisters, Madison Smith of Northwest Bay First Nation and Deja-Neara of Camden, N.J.; brother, Esau Hall of Camden, N.J.; grandparents, Gilbert and Delia Smith of Northwest Bay First Nation, and Tanya Hendricks and Weyman Langston, both of Camden, N.J.; Great-Gramma Mary A. Smith of Fort Frances, Ont.; uncles, Donald F. Smith (Heidi), Patrick Smith (Susan), Vernon Smith (Cheryl), Michael Hendricks, Hiram Langston, Wendell Langston, Frank Langston, and Rashid Lucas; aunts, Tania Smith, Carla Smith, April Bruyere, Jasmine Hendricks, and Fareeda Hendricks; as well as numerous cousins. He was predeceased by Great-Gramma Margaret Cyr and Great-Grandpa Alphonse Smith. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1320 Keenan Dr., International Falls, Mn., with Elder Dudley officiating. Friends may visit Friday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will take place at Northwest Bay First Nation, with Elder NeSmith officiating. The pallbearers will be Terry Smith and Gary Smith. In memoriam donations may be made to the Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg, Man., c/o Green Funeral Home, Box 427, Fort Frances, Ont., P9A 3M8.
