DONALD KEITH VOGES Donald Keith Voges, 66, of Winnemucca, Nev., passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2004 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno, Nev. Keith was born April 12, 1938 in Fort Frances, Ont., Canada. He served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Forest Service, and BLM, and was a 40-year member of the Operating Engineers Local 3. Keith’s passing will have many people in a somber mood this holiday as the holidays were Keith’s time to shine. We all took for granted that he would always be here. Keith loved the holidays—a time for family and friends. Keith always had time for you. Old family friends, new acquaintances, young, old—no matter. Children were a weakness for Keith. He loved and treated them all as his own, forever having words of encouragement and praise, and making all the little ones feel special and loved. That was Keith’s core—helping others. He always had time to listen or lend a helping hand. Keith was a family man and a true friend. His word was gospel and his hand-shake was binding. His big bearded smile will not soon be forgotten. Keith was the epitome of ambition and hard work, with callused hands and a sore back. Nothing could get Keith down because he always needed to be ready for tomorrow. He was a “burnin’ daylight” kind of man. He was predeceased by his parents, Gladys Cain Voges and Louis Voges; and a sister, Betty Peoples. Surviving are his wife, Donna Kelly Voges; son, Thomas James Voges and wife, Stacy Filbin Voges; granddaughter, Makenzie Grace; daughter, Tracy; brothers, Louis and wife, Sandra, John and wife, Renee, and Ted; and sisters, Helen, Alma, Delia and husband, Art, and Della. Keith loved his family and his friends—his hunting and fishing. His handcrafted woodwork was exceptional, impeccable, and second to none. The world has lost a most incredible individual this holiday season. Services were held Thursday, Dec. 23, 2004. Albertson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Keith, you will be greatly missed and loved. We will all strive to follow your lead. You left us an easy path to follow. We thank you, we love you, we miss you. With love, your family and friends.
