COLE, Desmond W. Born January 26, 1916 in Bangor, Saskatchewan, passed away at his home in White Rock, B.C. on July 31, 1998 at the age of eighty-two. Des served as a Sergeant in WWII from 1940 to 1946 with the R.C.A.F.C. After attending U.B.C. and the University of Toronto, Professor Cole taught at Queen's University in Kingston, then headed the English department at MacDonald College, and later joined the staff of McGill University. He is survived by many relatives and friends, and will be remembered and greatly missed by all of them. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army would be greatly appreciated. Service to be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, August 14 at the Salvation Army Church, 15417 Roper Avenue, White Rock, B.C., and interment to follow at Victory Memorial Park, Surrey, B.C.
