ROSS, Barbara (Taylor). Aged seventy years, beloved wife of Ernest Percival Ross, of Chatellerault Street, Shediac, N.B., and formerly of Quebec City, passed away Saturday, August 1, 1998 at ProTem Special Care Home, Moncton, following a lengthy illness. Born in Quebec City, September 2, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Robert Taylor and the late Dorothy Denslow of Great Britain. Besides her loving husband Ernest, she leaves with fondest memories her two daughters: Beverly Tait Ross Fielding and her husband Tim of Saint John, N.B., Margaret Eleonor "Peggy" Anderson and her husband Morten of Brampton, Ont., six sisters: Peggy Epworth (George) of Guelph, Ont., Pearl Brown of Burlington, Ont., Betty Taylor, Doris Taylor both of Napean, Ont., Mary Moraveck (Noel), Joyce O'Connor (Bill) of Toronto, Ont., five grandchildren: Zoe, Gillian and Taylor Fielding, Ross and Steven Anderson. Barbara will join her daughter Barbie, who predeceased her in 1982. Throughout her lifetime, Barbara volunteered with I.O.D.E., Y.M.C.A., Jeffrey Hale Hospital, various school libraries, and the Citadel Foundation. Professionally, she was an executive secretary to John McGreevy at McDonald Curry for twelve years. She also sang at the Jacques Cartier Room for the Gilbert Darisse Orchestra at Chateau Frontenac, and occasionally modelled designer clothes. Barbara loved to golf at the Royal Quebec Golf Club, and Orleans Island Golf Club. She was a member of Saint Matthews Anglican Church, Chalmers Wesley United Church, and Trinity United Church, Shediac. Relatives and friends of Barbara are invited to join her family for a memorial service, Tuesday, August 4, 1998 at 2 p.m., from Trinity United Church, Shediac. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Pte.-du-Chene, N.B. Memorial donations to The Barbie Ross Scholarship Fund, c/o Carleton University Development Fund, 1231 Colonel By Drive, Rm. 510 Admin. Bldg., Ottawa, Ont., K1S 5B6, or to the donors choice, is requested by the family. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Frenette Funeral Home, Shediac (506)532-3297.
