James Malcolm ROBERTS

ROBERTS, James Malcolm (Mac). Seventy-seven. Passed away peacefully on August 2, 1998 at St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, Nova Scotia after a brief illness. Formerly of Otterburn Park, Quebec, he was the son of the late James Malcolm and Florence (Reilly) Roberts. Along with his brother Ed and son Jim, he operated successful printing businesses in Montreal. He will be remembered by his friends as an exemplary family man who lived and practiced his faith in the true spirit of Ecumenism. His pastoral care work touched the lives of countless people in Quebec, and most recently in Antigonish and Guysborough Counties. Surviving are his beloved wife Teresa (O'Flaherty) MacDonald; son James Malcolm and wife Linda, Montreal; daughters Joyce and husband Steve Parker, Montreal, and Judith Ann and husband Malcolm Millar, Vancouver; brother Ed and wife Eleanor, Ottawa; sister Dorothy Roberts, Ottawa; grandchildren Stephanie, Shannon, Samuel and James; several loving step-children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Ethel Estelle (Bray) Roberts. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 5 at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, Antigonish, Rev. Keith Hagerman officiating. Burial at a later date in Knowlton, Quebec. There will be a reception in St. James United Church Hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation, Antigonish NS, the Antigonish Community Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
