Devoted husband of Inara and cherished Daddy of Amanda. Muc h loved brother of Linda and her husband Roy and Joanne. Dear uncle of Janis and her husband Rob, Jay and his wife Laura and great uncle of Nikki, Jeremiah (J.J.), Emily, Courtney, Alyssa and Joshua. He will be sorely missed by Angie, Cinder, Cricket and Guy. In keeping with Gord's wishes, cremation will be immediate. Friends may call at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel (Counter Street at Highway 2) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Members of the Air Force Association of Canada, 416 Wi ng are requested to assemble at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. for a service of remembrance. A celebration of Gord's life will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 2 p.m., The Reverend Canon Robert Hales officiating. A reception to follow the service at the Air Force Club. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Gord Metcalfe Gliding Scholarship Fund would be appreciated by the family. `He would rather have lived one day as a lion than a week as a mouse.
