WOITOWICH, Mary (nee Shack) In loving memory of Mary Woitowich (nee Shack), 71 years of Sudbury, who passed away Saturday January 10th, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre. She was born in Copper Cliff. Mary grew up and lived in Sudbury all her life. Over the past 20 years, Mary had given tireless effort and dedication to the Sudbury Chapter of the Ontario Special Olympics and The Greater Sudbury Developmental Services. For this dedication, she was honoured in 2002 with the Ontario Special Olympics President's Award and was also inducted into the Sudbury Kinsmen Sports Hall of Fame. In 1998, she was honoured by the Federal Government and the Canadian Special Olympics for her contributions to her community and the 1998 National Summer Games in Sudbury. Edward's accomplishments in Special Olympic activities brought her great pride and joy. Mary's passion was working with Special Olympics and the advancement of services for the Mentally challenged. Mary was an INCO pensioner since 1991 and a member of the INCO Quarter Century Club. She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Hope Church and was a member of the Catholic Womens League. She will be greatly missed by her many dear friends in the Special Olympic Community as well as friends in Sudbury and elsewhere. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jane Cox and the nursing staff on the 4th floor, Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Centre for their support. Beloved mother of William (wife Sandra) of Richmond Hill, Peter of Lindsay and Edward of Sudbury. Cherished grandmother of Matthew and Michelle. Loving sister of Edward (wife Norma) of Toronto. Dear aunt to Cathy and Jimmy. Predeceased by her parents William and Lena Shack. Memorial Visitation at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. S., Sudbury. Memorial Mass at Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan St., Sudbury, Friday, January 16th, 2004 at 10 am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to the City of Greater Sudbury Developmental Services Treeview Retirement Home Campaign, the Edward Woitowich Trust Fund or the Sudbury Chapter Special Olympics would be appreciated.
