ZYLKA, Frieda H. (Nee WŸrfel) In loving memory of Frieda H. Zylka (nee WŸrfel), 79 years of Sudbury who passed away Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - St. Joseph's Health Center. She was born in Busdorf, Germany and married Peter Zylka in England. Frieda came to Sudbury in 1952 from England. She had been a cashier in the cafeteria at the Sudbury General Hospital for 20 years retiring in 1989. She enjoyed the friendship and comraderie of her fellow staff members at the hospital. She had a wonderful affinity and advocacy for children. This special bond with young people was a mutual experience as she loved kids and kids loved her. An avid knitter her creations were treasured by her grandchildren and their friends. In younger days she also enjoyed gardening. She was a member of the Lutheran faith. Beloved wife of Peter Zylka predeceased 1966. Loving mother of Caroline (husband Peter Harrison) of Medhurst. Cherished grandmother of Asia, Sara and Santana. Dear daughter of Hugo and Olga WŸrfel predeceased. Dear sister of Armi Schneweise, Willie (wife Annaliese) and Klarchen Schroder (husband Heinz) all of Germany, Elli Ehd of Norway, Adolf (wife Renata) of Germany, Walter of Denmark and Heinz predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Monday, February 9th, 2004 at 3 p.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
