COOKE, Elizabeth, Rachel "Bette" (nee Watson) In loving memory of Bette Cooke, 78 years, formerly of Albert St., who passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2004, at the Elizabeth Center, Val Caron. She was born in Webbwood and married Vincent "Cookie" Cooke in Sudbury in 1948. Bette came to Sudbury at age 7. She had been the manager of the Good Book Nook for several years. A devout Roman Catholic, she had actively participated in the ministries of the former St. Clement Church. She had been a volunteer at St. Clement's Parish Credit Union for over 20 years and a longtime member of the parish CWL. She was a supporter of the Sudbury Philharmonic Society. A woman of great faith, Bette will be remembered as a determined person who always was quick to help others. Beloved wife of Vincent "Cookie" Cooke, predeceased 1984. Loving mother of Kathryn (husband David Gallagher) of Sudbury. Loving grandmother of Maureen (husband Sean O'Brien) and Wendy (husband Trevor Grant); great-grandchildren Kyle, Liam, Kendra and Emily. Dear daughter of Edward and Rachel (Donovan) Watson, predeceased. Dear sister of Lew of Massey, and the late Ted, Lloyd and Hugh Watson, Gladys Morrissette, Stella Pallett and Eileen Swan all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Rd., Sudbury, Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 1 p.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium.
