ANNOR, Alfred Benjamin, (PhD) In loving memory of Alfred Benjamin Annor, 58 years who passed away Friday morning, April 2, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. Beloved husband of Gladys Annor of Sudbury. Loving father of Veronica and Felicia. Dear son of Isaac Kofi Saakwa and Felicia Atei Koranten (both predeceased). Special foster son of Howard (predeceased) and Audrey Jackson of Toronto. Dear brother of Dr. Stephen Koi, Samuel Panti Saakwa, and Robert Gyampoh (all of Ghana) and Ernestina Ayesua, Nelson Larbi, Mary Okyerewah, and Robert Siaw (all predeceased). Sadly missed by his foster brother Trevor Jackson, his wife Jennifer and their son Dylan, and his foster sister Sandy, her husband Peter Vilde and their children Robert, Tomas and Serena, all of Toronto. Fondly remembered by many, many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. Alfred received his PhD from McGill University and had been employed as a Senior Research Engineer by the Department of Natural Resources, Canada for over 26 years. He served on the Board of Directors for NORCAT, was the Treasurer for the Sudbury Mining Heritage Association, and he had served with the Sudbury Chamber of Commerce. Alfred was a past vice-president of Cambrian College's Board of Directors and was a recipient of the Queen's Jubilee Medal. Alfred was a faithful member of Glad Tidings Tabernacle and was most proud of his position as "corner boy". He filled his position as usher with humility and pride and he will be missed by young and old alike. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral service at Glad Tidings Tabernacle, 1101 Regent Street, Sudbury, Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Interment at the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury. (Friends may call from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday and at the Church on Tuesday after 11:00 a.m.) Donations to NORCAT, NEORCC Radiation Department, Cambrian College Crombie Centre, or the Elgin Street Mission would be appreciated. 4/5/2004- ID3707682 - Sudbury Star
