GARDNER, Mary Ann (nee Lukie) In loving memory of Mary Ann Gardner who passed away peacefully, Friday, April 23, 2004 at her home, surrounded by family. Born in Grandview, Manitoba, Mary Ann was a devout Catholic who enjoyed the privilege of worshipping in both the Ukrainian Catholic and Roman Catholic faiths. She was a past president of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League, and a member of the Royal Purple, Canadian Cancer Society and the Committee Against Obscenity in Literature. Mary Ann loved her gardens, both vegetable and flowers; now she is tending to God's Garden. She was gifted with a special talent for needlepoint. Church was a center piece of her life, she enjoyed all the peoples of Manitoulin Island especially those of the church in Little Current. She will be remembered as a loving and generous woman who had a strong will and a big heart, especially for her family. She shared a wonderful spiritual and family life with George, always highlighted at the cottage or simply fishing. Beloved wife of George Gardner of Sudbury; predeceased by Fred Huska and John Yasuik. Loving mother of Helen (husband Bill Smith) and Molly (husband Michael Guyan) both of Sudbury; predeceased by Anthony "Tony" (wife Anita of Sudbury). Cherished grandmother of Brian, Bill Jr., Wayne, Jeff, Michael, Karen, Susan, Mark, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren. Dear daughter of Mike and Anastasia Lukie, both predeceased. Dear sister of Matt (Rose) of Dauphin, predeceased by Sophie, Ann, Helen, Annie, John, Bill and Peter. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St. (Friends may call 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. Monday, prayers 7 p.m. Monday). Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, 39 Walford Rd., Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 10 a.m. Cremation at the Parklawn Crematorium. Memorial Mass in St. Bernard's Church, Little Current Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. (Friends may gather at the church after 10:45 a.m. Wednesday). Interment of cremains at the Civic Cemetery.
