ZULICH, Maria Luigia Maria Luigia Zulich passed away peacefully at Extendicare York on Friday, April 30, 2004. Born July 6, 1912 in Fianona Pola. In loving memory of Maria Zulich daughter of the late Giuseppe Zulich and Domenica Stoia. Mother of George. Dear sister of Emilia Stopar (Giuseppe predeceased December 1974). Predeceased by her four brothers Arminio (Stefania), Giuseppe (Giovanna), Piero (Katarina), Mario (Mary in British Columbia) and one sister Antonia (Giovanni Paddeu) all from Italy. Croatia and Niagara Falls. Loving aunt of Emilio Stopar (wife Lydia), Angelo Stopar (wife Lorraine), Miro Zulich (wife Ann) all of Sudbury. Great aunt to Frank (wife Anna), Michael (wife Gaëtanne), Christina (special friend Alan), Angela, Sandra and to the many nieces and nephews living in Australia, Canada, Croatia, Italy and the United States. Maria became a member of the emergency reserve for the Red Cross in Italy. She received her certification to provide auxiliary nursing services. She served in Italy and Germany during the Second World War. Maria immigrated to Canada in 1949. She lived in beautiful Niagara Falls for fifty years. In October 1999, she moved to Sudbury to be near family. Maria was a quiet and gentle soul, but lived her life on her own terms. She will be dearly missed. The family takes this opportunity to thank the nursing and support staff of the fourth floor of Extendicare York for the kindness shown to Maria during her stay. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. at Hazel St. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Hope Church, 591 Brennan Rd., Sudbury, Monday, May 3, 2004 at 10 am. Interment in the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery. If so desired, donations can be made to Mass for the shut-ins or Our Lady of Hope Chest Fund.
