LIND, Elva Mary (Kerr) (nee Hewitt) In loving memory of Elva (Kerr) Lind (nee. Hewitt), 89 years of Sudbury, who passed away Wednesday evening, June 9, 2004 at the Extendicare-York, Sudbury. She was born in Bracebridge. Elva came to Sudbury in 1938 from Bracebridge. She had been a nursing assistant at the Sudbury Memorial Hospital for 9 1/2 years. A woman of great faith she had been a member of St Luke's United Church where she actively participated in its ministries and fellowship. She had been a member of St Luke's U.C.W. Elva had been a longtime member of the Ladies of the Loyal Orange Lodge #282 Sudbury. She was an avid quilter whose creations are treasured by relatives and friends. Elva was devoted to her family whom she leaves a rich legacy of love, faith and goodness. Beloved wife of James Vincent Kerr (1955) and Theodore Lind (1980) both predeceased. Loving mother of June White of North Bay, Robert Kerr (friend Susan) of Sault Ste. Marie, Allan Kerr (wife Monique) of Sudbury and Brenda Fox (husband Victor) of San José, Calif., stepchildren Beverly Goudreau (husband John) of Sudbury, and Gordon Lind predeceased (wife Joyce of Comox, B.C.). Dear mother in law of Helen Kerr of Halifax. Cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Dear daughter of Joseph and Jane (Bailey) Hewitt predeceased. Dear sister of Carmen Hammond, Edith Rawson and Alvin Hewitt all predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Monday, June 14, 2004 at 1 pm. Interment in the Park Lawn Cemetery, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers donations to St Luke's United Church Memorial Fund or Extendicare-York Residents' Council would be appreciated.
