MICHAL ‘MIKE’ KEPINSKI Michal "Mike" Kepinski, 76, of 936 Portage Ave., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 1998 at La Verendrye General Hospital. He was born April 27, 1921 in Zabin, Poland. Mr. Kepinski came to Canada on Nov. 24, 1950 and later settled in Fort Frances. He had worked as a lumberjack in Atikokan, and also was employed at Boise Cascade pulp and paper mill for 20 years. He enjoyed gardening, and was an avid outdoorsman. Michal was united in marriage Nov. 27, 1948 to the former Julia Smolen, who predeceased him Sept. 4, 1995. He also was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his two sons, Edmund Kepinski of Fort Frances, Ont., and Richard Kevin and wife, Beverley, of Winnipeg, Man.; and his grandson, Ron Makwich of Winnipeg, Man. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances.
