NORMAN HARLEY BYERLY Norman Harley Byerly, 81, of Pinewood, ON, passed away in Pinewood, Ontario. He was born on March 7, 1918 in Dana, Indiana and had lived most of his life in Schererville, Indiana. He had worked as a mechanic and had owned and operated a small business. He retired in 1977 and then moved to Canada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and gardening and was known for his wonderful garden. He was also dedicated to taking care of Grandma during her extended illness. Norman is survived by his daughter Jean Craig of Madison, Wisconsin, and son Frank of Mont Belvieu, Texas. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, John, Dawn, Julie, Ruthann, Daniel, Edith and Karen, two brothers Paul and wife Claudine of Sullivan, Indiana, Fenton of Sierra Vista, Arizona, one sister Catherine and husband Ralph Collom of Holly Hill, South Carolina as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was united in marriage to Florence Shelton who predeceased him in 1996. He was also predeceased by his parents John and Mary Byerly, five brothers, Louis, Russell, Harold, Dan and Dale. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, August 22, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Morson, ON with Pastor Ron Grout officiating. The honourary pallbearers are Norman’s family and friends. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation, 290 Munro Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7A 7T1.
