Edouard J. VENABLE

Edouard Venable Funeral services for Hearst resident Edouard J. Venable, 92, of the Foyer des Pionniers residence were held in Mattice, Dec. 30, 1999. He died Dec. 28, 1999 at the Foyer. Born March 18, 1907 in St-Léon, Dorchester, Quebec, he came to the Mattice area in 1927 as a pioneer homesteader. A Foyer resident since since the mid-1970s and a fervent Catholic, he was predeceased by a brother and sister. He leaves a sister Marie-Ange Picard and a brother Anselme Venable both of Quebec, as well as nieces and nephews. Rev. René Grandmont officiated the service at the St-François-Xavier Church. Spring interment will be at the St-François-Xavier Cemetery.
