IDA MAE (MAME) BOLESTRIDGE In loving memory of Ida Mae (Mame) Bolestridge, 90, of Rainycrest Home for the Aged in Fort Frances, Ont., who passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 18, 2000 at her residence. Ida was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Gill; second husband, Walter Bolestridge; parents, Rose and Robert McGauley; brothers, Robert McGauley and Ralph McGauley; and sisters, Helen MacGregor, Lucille Ericson, and Iris Halvorsen. She leaves behind nieces and nephews, Ladonna Klem, Ralph McGauley (Doris), Dennis McGauley (Lorraine), Marles Mathewson (Darwin), Rodney McGauley (Marlene), Curtis Halvorsen (Sharon), and Keith Halvorsen (Avis); and numerous other nieces and nephews. She was born Oct. 10, 1909 in Indus, Mn. but grew up in the Barwick area. She, with her first husband, Fred Gill, operated a grocery store in Devlin, and later operated the Esquire Shop in Fort Frances for several years. Following Fred’s passing, she moved to Burnaby, B.C., where she was united in marriage to Walter Bolestridge. They also spent several years in Winnipeg, Man. After Walter’s passing, she returned to Fort Frances to make her home at Rainycrest. Cremation has taken place, and a funeral service in memory of Ida will be held at a later date. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the charity of their choice. The family and friends of Ida Mae (Mame Gill) Bolestridge, who passed away Feb. 18, 2000, will hold a graveside memorial and interment service at Fort Frances Cemetery on Tuesday, May 9, 2000 at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Terry McNear officiating. “She walked in beauty, like the night of cloudless climbs and starry skies and all that is best of dark and bright meets in her aspect and in her eyes. But tell of the days in goodness spent now lives in a mind of peace with all below a heart whose love is innocent.” Auntie Mame will fly on the wings of God and be in our hearts forever.
