EDNA BEATRICE CHRISTINA ROBAR Edna Beatrice Christina Robar, born April 13, 1936 in Rainy River, Ont., passed away suddenly at McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay, Ont. on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2000. Edna started her career as a waitress at the Arthur Café in Fort Frances, and from there she worked at Halvorsen’s Camp on Lake of the Woods. She then took time out to raise her family until she continued her career by working at Rainycrest Home for the Aged and in the kitchen at La Verendrye General Hospital. She enjoyed spending many hours cross-stitching and gardening, and she thoroughly enjoyed her morning coffee get-together with her friends. She was always there for her family, and her highlights were visits from her children and grandchildren. Edna was predeceased by her father, David Vantassel; mother, Violet Cliver (Selman); and sister, Margaret Scott. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her five precious children, David Robar of Fort Frances, Debbie (Dale) Coughlin of Thunder Bay, Donna (Dave) Kroocmo of Atikokan, Dwayne (Vikki) Robar of Fort Frances, and Denine (Doug) Richard of Atikokan. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tracy (Dave) Mose, Amanda and Craig Coughlin, Tanya, Serena, and Kristen Kroocmo, Shaun, Nathan, and Stephanie Robar, and Neil and Nicholas Richard; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Courtney, and Alexis Mose. Also left to cherish her memories are her sisters, Eunice Rusnak of Rainy River, and Judy (Jim) Gosnell of Kenora; brother, Dave (Patsy) Daly of Mississauga; half-brother, Everett Cliver of Kenora; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and friends. Honouring her wishes, cremation will take place in Thunder Bay, with a memorial service to be held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Green Funeral Home in Fort Frances.
