Léopold Néron, 103-24 Deschenaux, Val Rita, died at Sensenbrenner Hospital on Oct. 10, 2000. He was 82 years old. Mr. Néron was born Nov. 6, 1917 in Moonbeam. He worked as a self-employed contractor. He was a veteran of the second world war, a member of the Legion and a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd degree. He enjoyed reading and working around the house. Mr. Néron was predeceased by his parents, brother Ronald and sisters Bernadette Krepenko and Léona Randall. He is survived by wife Lina, daughters Evelyne (Ghislain) Thiffeault of Val Rita and Jocelyne (Willie) Brooks of Victoria, sisters Yvette Gaudreault of Val D'Or, Georgette Duguay of Sault Ste. Marie, and Rollande Néron and Norma Bédard, both of Vancouver and brother Normand of Sudbury. Mr. Néron had three grandchildren: Mélanie, Jason and Kevin. Rev. Louis-Philippe Bélanger directed the funeral service at Ste. Rita Church. Mr. Néron will be interred at the Val Rita cemetery.
