Alphonse Benoit, 3-16 Spruce Street, Kapuskasing, died at home on June 22, 2000. He was 49 years old. Mr. Benoit was born May 1, 1951 in Kapuskasing . He worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Benoit was predeceased by his mother Georgette. He is survived by wife Ginette Jutras, father Aimé, sisters Hélène (David) Montgomery, Claudette (Raynald Poisson), Carole Benoit-Lambert (ami Richard Bouchard), all of Kapuskasing, Louise Dumoulin (Michel St. Amour) of Smooth Rock Falls; and brothers André (Lise), Robert, Claude (Margaret), and Maurice (Diane), all of Kap, Raymond of Victoria Island, Albert (Stella) of Vancouver, Yvon (Susan) of Port Coquitiam. Also surviving are mother-in-law Yollande Courtemanche, brothers-in-law Pierre Jutras of Uptonvale and Claude Jutras of Grandby and sister-in-law Sylvie Schweizer of Coldale. Rev. Jean-Paul Decarie directed the funeral service at Immaculée Conception. Mr. Benoit will be interred at the Kapuskasing cemetery.
