Simone Dumais, 50 Brunetville Road, Kapuskasing, died at Laurentian Hospital in Sudbury on April 4, 2000. She was 75 years old. Mrs. Dumais was born June 17, 1924 in Bromptonville, Quebec. She worked as a sales representative for Avon and Multi-Pro. She was a World Vision volunteer and a member of Al-Anon and enjoyed bingo, soap operas and watching television. Mrs. Dumais was predeceased by her daughter Reine Chmilewski and sons Gérald and Fernand. She is survived by husband René; sons Gilles (Laura) of Thunder Bay, Claude (Shirley) and Daniel (Hélène), all of Kap, Richard (Jane) of Kitchener, Regent of Collingwood and René Jr. of Bracebridge; and daughters Simone (Rosaire) Pouliot of Kap, Michelle (Bill) Campbell of Schreiber, Lise Dumais of Hull and Carole (Fred) Brown of Fort Frances. Also surviving are sister Yollande Breton of Sherbrooke and brother Gilles Sinotte of Sherbrooke. Mrs. Dumais had 15 grandchildren. Rev. Gilles Gosselin directed the funeral service at Immaculée Conception Church. Cremation at J. H. Fleury Crematorium in Rouyn-Noranda.
