Maria-Anna Veilleux, North Centennial Manor, Kapuskasing, died at the Manor on Jan. 20, 2000. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Veilleux was born Sept. 28, 1913 in Quebec. She worked as a housewife. She was a member of Dames de Sainte Anne and enjoyed knitting, sewing and taking care of all her children. Mrs. Veilleux was predeceased by her husband Joseph Alfred. She is survived by sons Lauréat (Pauline), Rhéal (Sally) and Gaëtan (Carmelle), all of Kap, and daughters Hélène (Roger) Robert and Diane (Jean-Guy) Robert of Moonbeam, Yollande (Jacques) Robitaille, Reine (Jacques) Poulin, Mireille (Gilles) Gervais, Gisèle Boyer and Pauline (Emilien) Cloutier, all of Kap, Liliane Charpentier of Timmins, and Suzanne Ouimette (Rock Brochu) of Hearst. Also surviving are brother André Allard of Hearst and sister Rose Séguin of Kap. Mrs. Veilleux had 28 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Rev. Gilles Gosselin directed the funeral service at Immaculée Conception. Mrs. Veilleux will be interred at the Kapuskasing cemetery.
