BAKTIS, Antonia (Nitsa) (nee Colivas). Peacefully at home on February 20, 2000 at the age of seventy-two. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas (Nick) Baktis and loving mother of Mattie, Nikki and Kathleen (Jim Keon). Survived by her godmother Elizabeth Colivas, sister Stephanie Tsadilas, brother Dennis, sisters-in-law Helen Colivas, Kathleen Mehr, Katherine Baktis and Georgina Milloy and brother-in-law Evans (Bill) Baktis, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Predeceased by her sister Mary and brother-in-law Lee Demeter, sisters-in-law Matilda Baktis and Mary Taylor and brothers-in-law Donald Taylor, Jack Milloy and Mark Mehr. "Nits" will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her family and friends. Her daughters would like to extend their utmost appreciation to His Eminence Metropolitan Archbishop Sotirios. Her girls would also like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Elsa Quiros, Dr. Michael Dworkind and his caring staff of the Support Care Team - Jewish General Hospital, Marie-Claude Mainville and the staff of the VON as well as Carmela Papa, Cathy and Harvey Mendelsohn, Penny Boudrias and Carolyn Hanley for their never-ending compassion and support. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22 at the Centre Funeraire Cote des Neiges, 4525 Cote des Neiges Road, 514-342-8000. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 23 at 1 p.m. at St. George's Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2455 Cote Ste. Catherine Rd., thence to Mount Royal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Support Care Team - Jewish General Hospital or Victorian Order of Nurses would be appreciated.
