ARCHER, Violet (nee Balestreri) D. Mus. Order of Canada, Composer, Educator, Pianist, Organist, Adjudicator and Professor of Music, University of Alberta. Peacefully in Ottawa, on Monday, February 21, 2000 in her eighty-seventh year. Beloved daughter of the late Cesare and Beatrice Archer. Survived by brother-in-law John Osborne, sister-in-law Hilda Archer, nephews David Archer, Paul Archer and Peter Osborne and nieces Anne Browne, Norma McCord, Helen Alain, Eleanor Archer and Mary Osborne and their families. A Funeral Service will be held at Rideau Park United Church, 2203 Alta Vista Drive, Ottawa (at Cunningham) on Saturday, February 26, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Music and Sound, Banff Centre for the Arts, Box 1020, Banff, Alberta, P0L 0C0, would be appreciated by the family.
