JOHNSON, Winnifred (nee Brown) "Rejoice for a mother deceased Our loss is her infinite gain A soul out of prison released And free from its bodily chain" Passed away peacefully in her 99th year, on February 21, 2000, at the Griffith McConnell Home in Montreal. Predeceased by her husband Edward Douglas in 1975. Survived by her loving family, Daintry (John Collins) of Pointe Claire, Quebec, Shirley (Bryce Camplong) of Loretto, Ontario, Mavis (Howard Rae) of Stittsville, Ontario, Crawford of Lethbridge, Alberta, and Lyall (Yvonne Lock) of Barrie, Ontario and Ocean Ridge, Florida. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of the Mount Royal Cemetery at a date to be advised. She lived her life for others helping those in need. Her joy of entertaining family and friends never ceased and she gathered them together at every possible occasion. In her home was fun, laughter, good talk and often a renewal of relationships. She leaves a beautiful legacy.
