BAIRD, Thomas. At Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Hospital Drive on Wednesday, March 1, 2000. Thomas Baird, age eighty-seven, of Empress Gardens (formerly of St. Lambert, Quebec). Husband of the late Anne (MacAulay) Baird. Loving father of George Baird (Rita) of New Mexico, U.S.A., Nan Campbell (Ron) of Peterborough and Alan Baird (Susan) of Peterborough. Survived by sister, Dolce Baird of Montreal. Will be missed by three grandsons, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren. He was retired from Dominion Textile, Loyal Member of Masonic Order, Fellowship Lodge 118, St. Lambert, Quebec and a Veteran of W.W.II. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel of the Comstock Funeral Home, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough, on Saturday, March 4, 2000 at 11 a.m., with the Reverend Gai Burns officiating. In memory of Thomas Baird, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
