James Nelson Richard HENRY

HENRY, James-Nelson-Richard Dr D.V.M., M.Sc. Passed away suddenly at St. Joseph's Hospital, Guelph on March 2, 2000 in his 69th year. Beloved husband of Donna (Stevenson), father of Richard and his wife Susan of Dryden, Gordon and his wife Christine of Manitouwadge, Jane of Guelph and Judy of Seattle, Washington. Beloved son of Vida (Smith) of Guelph, and pre-deceased by his father Nelson, previously of Ottawa. Grandfather of Neil, Dean, Robbie, Stephanie, Seth, Rebecca, Raechel and Jim. After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1955, he practised in the Ottawa Valley. He joined the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food in 1965, and remained there, retiring in 1992 as the Director of Veterinary Services Branch. Since his retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren, golfing, curling, hunting, fishing and reading. Friends may call at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL - McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph (from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday). Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7th at 1:30 p.m. at Eden Mills Presbyterian Church, Barden Street, Eden Mills, with Rev. Linda Paquette officiating. Private interment Eden Mills Cemetery. Memorial contributions to The Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated.
