MURPHY, Margaret (B.A. Queens '35) Quietly, and surrounded by her family, after a long struggle with cancer, at her home in Montague Township, on Sunday, March 12, 2000. Margaret Chant, beloved wife and best friend of Arthur B. Murphy M.D. Loved mother of Joan (Jack) Corbett of Collingwood, Bill (Wendy) of Smiths Falls, and Cathie Murphy of Brockville. Cherished grandmother of David (Jan) Corbett of Belleville, Christie (Brian) Acker of Toronto, Cathy (Mike) Tilley of Coloma, Michigan, Douglas (Lauren) Corbett of Toronto, Darragh (Stephen) Caplan of Toronto, Erin Murphy of Toronto, Jackie Morphy of Ottawa, Sarah and Lesley Morphy, both of Melbourne, Australia. Great-grandmother of John and Henry Acker, and Taylor Corbett. Sister of Helen (George) Graham, and Douglas J. Chant M.C., both of Prince Edward County. Predeceased by her parents Dr. Joseph and Georgia Chant, and her sister Dorothy (Austin) Walters, all of Belleville. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral Service will be held in St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, March 15th at 11 a.m. In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Smiths Falls Community Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
