WHELAN, Claire Dianne (nee Rysdale) 52 years. Died on March 12, 2000, at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus, after a 4 year battle with cancer. Loving mother of Katherine Passamai and husband John, Ronald Marston and wife Tamallia, Michelle Marston, all of Windsor. Loving daughter of Nora and John Sanner of Windsor. Dear grandmother of Jordan. Dear sister of Daniel Rysdale, Patricia Lautoff and husband David, all of Windsor, and Linda Moore of Kingsville. Dear aunt of several nieces and nephews. Dearest friend of Donald LeBlanc of Windsor. Mrs. Whelan was the founder and president of the Moonshine Kickers Line Dancing Club. Heartfelt thanks to the Windsor Regional Cancer Center where donations would be appreciated by the family. Visiting Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. with parish prayers on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, March 15, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. from Janisse Brothers Funeral Home, 1139 Ouellette Avenue, then to Holy Name of Mary Parish for Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. Fr. Richard Bester officiating. Cremation with interment in Assumption Cemetery. A tree will be planted in memory of Claire Whelan in the Janisse, Marcotte, Melady Memorial Forest. A dedication service will be held October 1, 2000.(The Windsor Star)
