Carrigan, Myrtle Beatrice (nee Bjerkness) pic On March 26, 2000 Myrtle Beatrice Carrigan passed away peacefully at Cold Lake Regional Hospital. Myrtle's gentle nature and sense of humor will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her son: Evan (Leanne) Carrigan of Hinton, AB; four daughters: Beate (Clifford) Sawatzky of Athabasca, AB, Helen Carrigan of Edmonton, AB, Joanne Wayne) McMillan of Ardmore, AB, Aggie (Denis) Desnoyers of Quesnel, BC; fourteen grandchildren: Paula, Kelly (Jason), Joey, Michael (Sandy), Brett, Trevor, Kenny, Danielle, Shannon, Krista, Chantelle, Allison, Lindsay and Morgan; two great grandchildren: Jessica and Victoria; sister: Eva Stebbing of Battleford, SK; brother-in-law: Ben Carrigan of Fallis, AB; sister-in-law: Mary Bjerkness of North Battleford, SK; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband Irvin in 1991, her parents Knute and Beata Bjerkness, six brothers: William, Herman, Kenneth, Floyd and in childhood: Carmel and Chester; three sisters: Mella, Della, Lawrenza. Funeral service was held on Thursday, March 30, 2000 at 1;00 p.m. at the Ardmore Community Hall, Ardmore, AB with Reverend Evelyn Rigby officiating. Cremation to follow. Honorary pallbearers were: Thornton Wallace, Howard Wilson, Ben Carrigan, Ted Vaasjo, Fred Vaasjo, Cecil Gubbe, Edwin Inman. Pallbearers were: Joe Skuce, Mike Skuce, Brett Sawatzky, Trevor Sawatzky, Kenny McMillan, Morgan Carrigan, Duane Gubbe. In lieu of floral tributes, the family would appreciate donations toth Cold Lake Palliative Care Unit, Cold Lake Health Centre, 314-25 St., Cold Lake, AB T9M 1G6 or to the charity of one's choice. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Ezeji-Okoye and nurses and staff at the Cold Lake Regional Hospital.
