METCALFE, Wilmer Wilfred (Veteran WWII, Royal Regiment of Canada 1941-45, Lifetime Member Royal Canadian Legion Branch #95) Peacfully in hospital in Smiths Falls on Friday March 31, 2000 in his 79th year. Wilmer Metcalfe beloved husband of Virginia Reid. Loving father of David, Kathryn (Mrs. Don Sweet), Gary (Kathy) and Heather (Mrs. William Griffith). Cherished grandfather of Lianne and Alaina Sweet; and Katelin and Jessica Metcalfe. Dear son of the late Wilfred and Jessie Metcalfe. Brother of Raymond (Margaret) and the late Harry and William. Brother-in-law of Monique and Bettie Reid and families. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Lannin Funeral Home, Smiths Falls, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel Monday April 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.
